Emrox's News

Posted by Emrox - December 10th, 2011

Hey guys and more guys.

A few weeks ago I finished making a humor game that's much more of a "get a kick out of it and have something to think about afterwards" game than a "play long into the night to reach the climax" game. I made it with hopes of getting a sponsorship so I could buy a better computer (I have a beige mac from 2001), but I have no idea how to find someone who would be willing to buy this aberrant flash game. Are there people out there willing to buy licenses for games like these, or is there no place on a standard flash-gaming website for games that are directed towards an older audience who would appreciate structure & writing over gameplay?
YES, I have tried FGL.

Also, here's a screenshot:

I may have the middle of the sentence that no one cares about, but my title will make the most sense when someone reads this years from now.

^ Not that the last sentence will make sense years from now.

Ciao!

Our New Game

Madness day movies? Is this really what I'm doing now?

I seriously just finished this. Barely on time, but it's still madness day for two more hours.

Also, If this guy doesn't get at least second place, I think I'll have to beat some kittens.

One hitpoint apiece? What a ripoff.

I just finished my fifteenth trip a few days ago. I was actually planning on saving this news post for when an almost-complete collab I'm releasing soon comes out, but due to some delays, I figured I might as well make this birthday post before it's well after my actual birthday.

Anyway, PREPARE FOR LENGTH! I'm doing another year in review.

Wisenhiemers: Dumpster Baby was created for a competition that I later tied for first place in. I actually already had the prize they were giving away, along with the other winner, but hey, Max Gilardi himself said "our listeners all use flash, so they have no reason not to enter." *

*Note: It was later proven that not all listeners had flash
-Also note: Max later complained that he did not know why we both entered, as we both owned the prize already.
- Also note too: The prize was a DVD copy of 'Tim and Eric, Awesome show, Great job!' season three, which was mailed to the third place winner.
- Also note this also too please: The third place winner never received the DVD in the mail.

The Dub Collab came out shortly after. While 10jd started the collab, he never was actually able to complete it, and received absolutely no credit at all ever when the finished product came out, which he didn't seem to be very happy about, so I figured I'd give him a say. What happened to 10jd anyway? Has anyone heard from him in a while?
Also, this is the fourth project goat-man and I collaborated on. He is quite the nice guy.

Forest Fires is what I feel to be the funniest thing I've ever completed ever. Too bad everyone else didn't like it.

Butter on Bread is what I feel to be the best example of my animation to date. It was frontpaged, which officially broke my long streak of none of my solo projects getting any recognition. (Thanks, Tom!)

Man, It sorta saddens me that of the 13 best-scoring movie jam submissions, mine was the only one that didn't fill the 12 spots on the front page. I wonder why?

...Oh yeah, because mine was a complete joke, in addition to being unfinished. (Thanks, Tom, -for saving me from embarrassingerment!)

Organized Stupidity is the creation of the anime fanatic ganon95. Many, MANY things held this project back from completion (most of them were my problem), but I'm glad we finally got it done.

WHOA! HERE COMES TOFA!

A Trip To The Hosiptal (sic) was my open round entry to TOFA 2011, featuring the voice talent of Zekeeriks and Linktube. They're both excellent voice actors that aren't very well recognized for their talent, so drop them a PM if you need some decent male voices. This was always one of my favorite TOFA entries, but in retrospect the ending was pretty bad. It leaves you tense still without relief, like in Regular Show. Ugh.

Long Lost Bike was my second entry to TOFA, and while I always really liked the theme, I always felt that the script wasn't as good as some of my other entries. Strangely enough, this one got the second highest score, both on newgrounds and in TOFA, and it got the most recognition.

(short, non-tofa break)

Son, Ya Done is almost entirely by my brother Pjorg, but I did the bit at the end where the Dad says "Ya Done." Funny thing is, while my brother was making this, he was telling me that hopefully what will happen is the movie will go under the radar with a score under 3, but will then be shown on the livestream and be frontpaged. That is exactly what happened. (Thanks, Tom!)

(Back to tofa)

This movie was in no way inspired by this movie. It was inspired by the TOFA theme. I always liked working to themes so I could create original content. That is why I joined TOFA. I am well aware of the similarities, and to be honest, I don't really care. Now please stop messaging me.

Also, Chris did an excellent job on his voice, by the way.

The Greatest Cake To Ever Exist Ever was my final TOFA entry. I thought the script was pretty good, and the animation was some of my best, but it didn't go over as well as I thought it would with the judges. Actually, just one judge in particular. (Thanks, Tom!)

Wow, that ended on a sour note. On a brighter note, BIG OL' COLLAB IS ON IT'S WAY! STAY TUNED!

And until next time, LEVEL UP!

Audition here for a new collab I'm hosting! It's essentially a flash pass that will be conducted entirely within a 72 hour period. Hopefully, someone will be working on it at all times, but only if enough people audition!

In other news, my latest video did okay. Check it out if you haven't already.

Also, I started making my own games again. What's it been, two years? Try to guess what historical event this is based on!

That is all.

Recruiting collaborators for flash-pass type thing!

...eventually.

In the mean time, vote five on my new movie.

I'm turning fifteen!

...so my friend's Mom, who works in web design, agreed to help me create one.

Long story short, she and her mom moved to Canada

It's worth a watch. So watch it.

This project was started in August last year. I may have got distracted once or twice or thrice or quadrice (that's not actually a word) but nevertheless I got it done.

ALSO, I NEED VOICE ACTORS FOR SOMETHING I WROTE INVOLVING THREE GUYS.
I need two average guys around the age of nineteen, and then two more guys that only have, like, two lines each. If you want to do it, PM me.

Now for the boring part where I talk about my life or something.

So I started going to this art school that lasted until 5PM rather than 2PM, so I had much less time after school for animation. As the year went on, we started getting more homework, and I was hardly able to work at all until the weekend, at which I would stay up 'til 2AM working so I wouldn't get too behind in my work. It was getting to the point where it was damaging my health-

...wait a minute, I don't care about my health.

Well I quit going to the art school. Whenever I came up with a script for a new animation, I had to animate it immediately or I'd lose enthusiasm, and as a result, the Organized Stupidity project's completion kept getting put off longer and longer. SO NOW YER GUNNA SEE EVEN MORE FROM ME.

Can you believe it's been a year since my most popular submission came out?

New Movie, Need VAs

In order to test the flash API for ads, I made This movie in a couple days. I was testing them for a different movie you can expect to see soon.

Also, I did the sound for my brother's recent submission. Check that out

Also, I received my prize from the contest I entered a while back.
