Almost done being a TEEN!

One more year! We can do it!

I almost didn't do one of these this year. But then I did! Have I gotten any better? I hope so, because otherwise I just wasted a whole year!

Is it weird to have those "not getting any younger" crisises when you're under 40? Maybe that's how everyone feels when they get to be an actual adult guy but I feel like I'm way too young to be concerned with being too old. Besides, being young SUCKS. You have to go to school! Man was that boring!

This is kind of a waste of a front page space but I just want everyone to know I'm still active. Here's some updates:

Workin on a cartoon. I think it's gonna be super great. I'm trying to finish it by the end of the year
Trying to get better at drawing. More on that in my last post
Going to school for game design. I wrote a big post about that, too, but I took it down because I changed my mind about some of the stuff I said. Now you'll never see it. HA!
I made some joke art tutorials and one of them got a whole lot of shares on tumblr! Most people thought they were real, which is weird and not what I wanted! Still cool though! my art blog
I've been doing some PSA-y cartoons for a client to make some money on the side. I just barely made minimum wage this summer! I have no idea if I'm allowed to share these, so here's one of them. It's someone else's job to add the text (something like "don't clown around in meetings"), so my bit alone doesn't make much sense. I think it turned out pretty good though!

That's it I think. Sorry I didn't make anything all year! When this cartoon comes out and it RULES it should make up for everything. If you want to do me a SOLID for my b-day, give me some feedback on that sketchbook thing from my last post. Or just ask me something in the comments! I'm a teen boy and I need your love and attention!

I always thought if it has "teen" in the number it counts, but now some people count it differently so I don't actually know

Happy Birthday! I'm looking forward to seeing your content, I wouldn't mind seeing tutorials actually, you've got some astounding arcs in your animations. The sketchbook was really fascinating, you have a great way of pushing character expressions and I admire your style.

think i meant to comment on your artsy post, but then i didn't for some reason. i'm really into the drawings that are all compressed into one plane, like 41 and 50. might just be the art phase i'm in, but i think it works well with the way you warp proportions. don't know if it'd work well animated, but for stills it looks great.

I'm a big fan of the design-y stuff too. I'm sure there's a way to animate it, but you'd probably lose some of the "punch." Nowadays all the top art kids are really focused on making stuff look flowy and organic, but a good right angle can make everything look so much more interesting.

I'm trying to balance that with actual solid construction, but I pretty much always fall back on my old 2d tricks. Do you know if you actually have to draw all those guidelines around all the different shapes? To me that's insane, but if that's what looks good, I guess I gotta learn it.

Well congratulations for almost being out of your teens! You just reminded me that I'm going to be 20 this year, haha, but that's alright. I would like to say good luck when you go to school for game design I hope you learn a lot and have a whole bunch of fun! :D

So, which games got you into the thought of getting into game design? Or was it someone who inspired you? Also, what school are you thinking of attending? I've heard a lot about Full Sail and Ai, so maybe one of those?

Oh shit this is way late but I guess I never answered! Real quick:

- Got into game design from making a lot of flash games way back when, no particular inspiration
- Going to Sheridan College (still am! Dropping out soon possibly!) It's great tho, and very cheap compared to american schools
